Born from an idea of Lorenzo Guarnieri, and masterminded and carried out by Michele Cinque, Lorenzo Guarnieri and Alessandro Leonardi, with the indispensable support of Roberta Canepa, TOP RUNNER is a grassroots production, with neither funding nor sponsorship.

The documentary was produced by the young firm called Lazy Film and in collaboration with MRF 5. Lazy Film was founded by Michele Cinque during the making of TOP RUNNER and the firm became a sort of creative utopia. It uses an alternative logic for the production and distribution of high quality audiovisual products: total creative freedom and the reduction of production costs aimed to regaining an artisan like dimension of filming. The special relationship with reality, which every documentary should preserve, is the documentary film’s stronghold. Lazy Film reports some pieces and fragments of the reality that encompasses our life, encouraging people to take awareness, be curious, be critical, study and change.
MRF 5 is a production company that has worked for more than twenty years in the cultural field. It organizes high profile events, such as festivals, and produces audiovisual and musical works. It supported the making of this documentary from the onset.
