  • 180 marathons run up to today, from September 1998 to Autumn 2009, for an average of 16 a year, with a peak of 31 in 2004: 42 victories, some of which were obtained abroad (Helsinki, Utrecht, Luxor).

  • WORLD RECORD of marathons ran in a single solar year under the time of 2h 20’: 16 races run in 2000, which awarded him a special prize by RUNNER’S WORLD America.

  • PERSONAL BEST clocked in at 2h13’15” at the Vigarano Ferrara marathon on March 12, 2000.

  • In 2004, Calcaterra started entering longer distance races, like the 50km; he took part in the very difficult Pistoia Abetone, a 53 km uphill race.

  • In 2006, he took the great leap into ultramarathon races: the 100km. He was theundefeated winner of the Passatore’s Florence Faenza 100km race, from 2006 to 2009, and in the same period he was the Italian Champion of the 100km race

  • He was a member of the Italian ultramarathon team at the 100km World Championships in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009.

  • He races almost every weekend, sometimes on both Saturdays and Sundays: he has run over 1000 races in 27 years.

  • He trains on his own, without an official trainer. He decided which races to participate in himself.
